Show Premiers

The new TV season officially has started. I know I'm kinda two weeks late, but I've been digesting all the shows. Plus, I've discovered the whole 'viewing-shows-online-for-free,' so it has been my alternative to BitTorrent since I have recently received an official Abuse Report from RoadRunner, which is another story.

The Unit Season 2 Episode 22

I wanted to see this particular episode because the episode description involved the boys watching a Thai prince. I wanted to see how that would play out. Would they have real Thai actors or just Asian actors acting Thai? How would they deal with portraying a Thai royal because the Thais are serious about they monarchy.

Well, guess what? I saw Bai Ling's name in the opening credit for God's sake!!! Then I saw random girls in two piece swim suits...RIGHT! Like that would ever happen.

Fox's once-hot 'The O.C.' is canceled

Aww...to bad, I guess. But since I didn't watch it regularly after the first season, I'm more indifferent than anything else.

Wow. Um, still collecting my thoughts...

Autumn in my Heart

I've just finished watching Autumn in my Heart, a Korean drama series. I took a chance and started watching this without knowing anything about the plot before hand, and was pleasantly surprise to find out that Song Hye Kyo was starring in it. This is also where I start crushing on Won Bin. He is fast replacing Rain as my favorite Korean star.

It starts out in the childhood of the two main leads, one of which is Song Hye Kyo. Anyhoo, there is a lot of crying and sadness involved to tug at our heartstrings.

I loved when Eun-seo (Song Hye Kyo) is working as an operator where she meets the rich, spoiled Tae-seok (Won Bin--who I have a deep and irrational crush on). But this didn't last long as Eun-seo is destined to meet her true love, Jun-seo, who just happens to be Tae-seok's best friend and Eun-seo's long lost "brother."

It was slow during the last third of the series because I wished that Eun-seo and Tae-seok would get together instead of Eun-seo and Jun-seo. But of course, nothing can stop true, undying love, which in turn made the story dragged on and on, and made me stopped rooting for them.

I started to lose interest when Eun-seo got a nosebleed, which in TV and movies is the tell tale sign of cancer. And I was right!!! Now this cancer part took up way too much time. There were several instances where I thought Eun-seo was going to die, but NO! not in make believe world of TV romances. She’s going to live just a little longer to squeeze every last bit of sorrow and empathy out of us. This is the weakest part of the entire story.

So This Manatee Walks Into the Internet

Oh, Conan must be so proud. Watch out, or this might be in direct competition with Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt in pursuing world domination.

The Amazing Race 10 Finale

Yay to the Models for winning. I didn't have a particular favorite this season, but the Models are unoffensive, so no complaints from me.

Overall, a boring finale. Little suspense. I thought it was going to be a 2 part-er. There was no final challenge to cap it all off. I thought there was going to be more...

SNL: Annette Benning

Gwen Stefani's song was TERRIBLE. She was YODELING!!! More than once!!! And Akon was so-so. All in all a pretty forgettable hour. Well in fairness, I wasn't paying much attention throughout the 90 mins.

Battlestar Galactica:

My Gods, indeed. I love this fraking show. It's number two on list list after 24. Alhtough 24 is pure adrenaline rush, BG beats 24 on the emotional and humanity level. It's the number one show I would probably recommend to people.

So many twists and turns it just keeps you breathless. I was shocked to see the '1 year later' but I'm glad the show didn't dragged on.

Crumbs: Pilot 'sode

I love Jane Curtin. And Fred Savage.

I’m watching this show because one of my favorite jokes ever, as told by my friend, had the punch line of crumbs and caused me to giggle uncontrollably for minutes. I'm trying to remember it.

So far ok. I just hate the laugh track. Annoying. I love Dido at the end, though.

Nip/Tuck: The Carver Revealed

I'm so disappointed. The whole ordeal with the son was over the top. But I guess the whole last hour was too.

Commander in Chief

I love Geena Davis. And this show is great. A fun twist on the West Wing, which was getting stale.

SNL & Dungeons & Dragons

It's Napoleon Dynamite!
John Heder is cute, people! The intro was great, but the rest was eh. The Black Eyed Peas spoof was pretty good, though. I see SNL has got some new interns. Looking forward to seeing how they contribute.

Dungeons & Dragons is my kind of movie. Action/adventure/Set in a magical time period. Not bad. (on Sci-Fi channel)

Michael Vaughn is NOT DEAD

No way. NO WAY.

And I miss Nadia. I kinda forgot what happened last season.

I almost missed the premiere. I didn't know Alias changed dates. It's at 7pm. Weird time for me.

And I missed The O.C. Just saw the part where dad and mom were about to get naked. And Julie is poor again. And Marissa becomes the outcast. And Ryan had a haircut. And I didn’t see Seth, I don’t think.

TV Tuesday

This is arguably my busiest TV watching day. Let my count the ways: Bones, House, Gilmore Girls, NCIS. Forgot that Nip/Tuck is on as well. Plus Bones, GG, and NCIS is on at the same time.

And yesterday saw the return of the Amazing Race: Family Edition. I had tears in my eyes for the Black Family. Seeing the two boys hold backs with disappointed faces got to me.

Prison Break

Wentworth Miller is hot.

And Prison Break is 1 hour filled tension.

ETA: Is it surprising that Scofield has a thing for the pretty prison doctor? And he has to go save her? Maybe he needs Sara to continue to be the doctor because he needs to break out from the infirmary.

Korean Full House

But not the Olsen Twins one. NO.

I missed a couple of episodes in the beginning, but once I discovered it, I was hooked. I feel in love with this TV series, Full House, when I was in Thailand. It was the rage there, and I guess it's incredibly popular over Asia as well. I mean it was like Gilmore Girls for me. Couldn't miss an episode.

I guess I'm not the only one to love it so badly I forked over 1600B for the VCD, and that's a whole lot of money to spend just for a VCD, especially since I didn't know if it was possible to play it here (but I can and it works just fine).

The whole series is just so cute and adorable, and I couldn't resist.

One of the best things to come out of my trip there. Afterwards, I found out just about everyone loved it too. Watching it with my cousins was the best thing.

Ever since then I have had a crush on both the stars of the show, Rain and Song Hye Gyo. More and more Korean series are showing in Thailand as a result of Full House's popularity, and I have had a chance to see both actors in other shows, but none that's as endearing as this show.

I am so obsessed.

tv catch up

Now that I have unlimited access to the wonder of cable, I’m trying to catch up on TV watching. I used to blog regularly about it, but somehow I’ve fallen off track.

Anyways, this season, the breakout for me has to be HOUSE. I love Desperate Housewives, Lost, and Eyes. But the tension between House and Cameron makes me giddy. Sometimes I have to close my eyes. It’s just so good. Dude, how I love thee. I miss sarcasm ever since Wonderfalls went away. Now House is filling the void. There are few shows that make me giddy, and the scenes between House and Cameron does just that.

I’m also watching Veronica Mars. I haven't watched it since January, and I love it again. Somehow I’m attracted to high school drama. By the way, I love Neptune high more than Harbor high. I guess my high school was unfulfilled, but I have to vicariously live through other people's high school experiences. My high school 'experience' never lived up to my expectations or other people's perception of the standard high school experience every teen must go through--a rite of passage as old as time. Without it, life is incomplete. Plus, I still remember reading Nancy Drew and being mini detective isn’t all that bad.

Thank you the Amazing Race

And that was last season.
