an end to the olympics

Women's soccer gold medal match. How phenominal was that. A little antecdote: I remember getting a poster from somewhere. One on side was Michael Jordan and the other is Mia Hamm. MJ is great and all, but this is the greatest female soccer player in the world, and maybe of her generation. It was evident which face would face the wall and which one would stare at me.

Closing ceremony. Gosh. Time to say to bye to two weeks of sporting fun. And goodbye to my dream of playing volleyball for the USA and bringing home the Gold (It's possible.) Pretty cool games. Of course, swimming was my favorite sport to watch, and I found my new crush: Aaron Piersol. Overall, I've enjoyed these past two weeks. . .blah. . .blah.
BEST HAIR: Australian swimmer Ian Thorpe, whose blond-tipped bed-head still looked fabulous, even with the gold medal-winner's wreath on top of it. -- from The Best and Worse of the Athens Games
A final note: And hooray to Shaq for showing up at the VMA's and not the Olympics. Way to be, Shaq.
