Republican National Convention

President Bush's speech. Video introduction. Blah...blah...Bush has "natural humor." He's "candid." Sure. Check Slate's Bushism of the Day.

A lot of 9-11 talk, I don't know if Republican should be allowed to take over 9-11 for themselves. I'd like to feel like the whole country should take credit for the recovery.

The video includes the narrator, the sappy movie, and the moving, heroic storyline that bores me. This is what you get from documentaries. The stuff you see in Olympic Games when they profile athletes who faced adversity.

The movie continues. Now, they are recounting how difficult it is for him to throw a baseball. My interest peaked when they mention Derek Jeter, though.

Bush finally comes out! Cheering, waving of the American flag. Still cheering. Make it stop. OK, he finally speaks. Yes. Say something. Don't mess up! How long is this speech going to be? I need to get back to tennis on USA.

Hills? Valleys? Geography lesson, anyone?

Theme: where he stands...what he believes, and where he will lead the nation for the next 4 years...something like that.

It's 9:27pm, and I'm switching to tennis. I'm watching Moya vs. Delic. And John Madden is on now with Ted Robinson and John McEnroe. Pretty cool. John Madden on as a guest commentator.
