TV

There have been some excellent TV going on this past week and the week before too. I haven't had a chance to blog about it, so I’m going to catch up with this post.

The O.C. Premiere. For some reason, I can't watch it with my parents. I think they see it as some lame teen soap and have given up on it. Because I was with my parents while it premiered, I muted it, and instead, we talked about the ELECTION RESULTS, and that conversation can be summed up with two words: UTTER DISBELIEF. I did, however, catch the 2nd episode, and the 3rd, which is on RIGHT NOW. I'm going to go out on a limp here and say that THE O.C. is THE perennial teen show right now, following Beverly Hills 90210 and Dawson's Creek.

I didn't quite catch the Ryan and Teresa and is - it - his - baby - or - not - and - there's - no - more - baby - right - now - so - Ryan - can - return - to - Seth part. THIS WEEK: Oohhh...juicy! Julie running the Newport Group! Ryan's got a new love. Kirsten is sad because Julie is going to be her boss but happy again because she's at least getting a raise!

Gilmore Girls. Mardy. Mardy. Poor Mardy. Rory falls sleep at the exact moment he wants to ask her out. I know I'm a Luke and Lorelai fan, but I'm soooo glad Christopher is back. And I do not like Sookie being pregnant again. She just gave birth to Davey. Man, the writers couldn’t come up with a better storyline than her getting pregnant again? I'm not feeling it. I miss non-pregnant Sookie. I want her back in the kitchen, DAMMIT.

And I am ever the happy chick after Dean and Lory broke up. I can't believe both of them thought it was OK to go out and try to have a relationship after the affair. Did Dean ever get a divorce or is he still separated? I felt like they gloss over that whole deal after Lindsey found the letter.

Lost. Oh. My. God. If Alias wasn't enough, now JJ Abrams gives us LOST. My. God. Man, I'm a big Sawyer fan. Yes, I like the asshole everyone hates. I'm realizing there is something irresistible about falling for the bad boy. I can't believe that Sayid found the mysterious French woman so quickly. I bet that rash -- the hives that hypochondriac got -- is the doomed disease Danielle was talking about. Sometimes I wish I had taped the episodes because I don't want to miss a single thing that happens on that island.

Joan of Arcadia. Still rocks. Really dark episodes lately, and the upcoming one where we get to see what happens on the night of Kevin's accident will continue to pretty heavy stuff. I wanted to see where they took the whole Judith storyline, and I guess I got my answer. I still love Amber Tamlyn. And I still have a crush on cute-guy God.

AND...

The Amazing Race 6. Wow, baby. I missed most of the last one due to the Olympics and tennis and a whole bunch of other stuff, but I AM NOT MISSING A SINGLE EPISODE THIS SEASON (if God doesn't punish me). WOOOOOO...what a 2-hour premiere. I loved that the grandparents, Don and Mary Jean, did not come last this time, and I loved that they choose to do the ice climbing detour, and that the guy said that he preferred the ice in a martini! The crazy dude and his wife, Victoria and Jonathan, are meant to be Collin and Christine clones. No need to hide the fact. I bet she married for money.

I didn't see a lot of guy-guy teams. I think there were two girl-girl teams and a whole bunch of guy-girl teams. And the only guy-guy team got eliminated.

Now, the only down side to all of this is that my Tuesdays are crammed.
