snowy days

It's so beautiful. I woke up, after having slept around 3 hours, to the most beautiful sight I've seen recently. Snow. White Snow. Incredible. It's not often snow falls, about once a year, but when it does, it literally stops everything. It was breathtaking. I'm also happy for selfish reasons. I had two tests schedule for today, and now that campus is closed, I get to stay home and make snowmen and snowangels. Hahhh...such a harsh life.

Plus, it snowed on Valentines Day.

Calvin and Hobbes has some great snow related strips.

Since I've recently been drawn to philosophy, here's a related article in the NY Times: When Philosophy Makes a Difference. The article describes a famous, although not well-known, philosopher, Leszek Kolakowski, who "was selected for the first John W. Kluge Prize for Lifetime Achievement in the Humanities and Social Sciences" (NY Times).
