TV: #1.6: Gasp! No more Luke!

So Luke's the one who's leaving! There was a rumor going on that someone big on The O.C. was leaving. It's Luke or Chris Carmack that will be departing reports Page Six. Now it's official. Luke started off being a jerk, but he turned out to be a pretty cool guy although only after he found out his dad was gay. After his relationship with Marisa ended, I sort of questioned his need to be around anymore. What's the point? But now it's kinda sad. He supported Ryan against Oliver by offering to "drop the Great Gatsby." He's done some pretty shady things like sleeping with Marisa's mom. That's a pretty big shakeup now that Anna, who I adored, left too.

I can't wait for next season. I'm hoping it won't begin during the summer because I don't want to miss it. Plus, the theme song gets me every damn time! California!...here we come...right back where we started from... I hear the DVD will be coming out during fall, right before season 2 starts. I'm definitely getting that.

High School Reunion reminds me of Popular, a now cancelled, defunct show on The WB. It was also set in high school. I don't know if anyone else watched it (obviously not because they cancelled it). You can see some Wonderfalls and Gilmore Girls in there because its formula was a great blend of: quirky characters and situations; fantasy type happenings; smart, fast moving dialogued filled with pop culture references; and dealing with serious teen situtations in funny, offbeat ways. The supporting character were memorable as well, especially Mary Cherry and Nicole. Wonder if it's on DVD yet? I'm gonna grab that one too. (ETA: I just found out that it'll be coming to DVD in July. Wooohooo)...I've included a list of articles about the show since it's been off the air so long, and I actually needed reminding on the plots and characters. It was a fun show to waste an hour on.
  • Teen Queens Pop matters reviews the show.
  • Online Petition to bring back the show I found this really funny in a sad kind of way. There are only about 4000 signatures on it. That's sad. Plus, people are using it to express their undying love for Angel, and their begging the WB not to cancel Angel...in a Popular petition. I feel for Popular. Um...that's also especially sad.
  • TV Tome The basic premise of the show and short summaries of each episode are found here.
Watch BBC America if you have it. Here's why: It's Brash, It's British, It's Not PBS

Good news: "Karen Sisco's three remaining unaired episodes will be broadcast on USA Network beginning Wednesday at 10 pm/ET."--tvguide.com

Why Scooby-Doo will stick around: "Hey, dog! How do you do the voodoo that you do so well?"
