TV: #1.13: Too real for TV

Only the Good Die Young: Was Freaks and Geeks too real for network television? I want to watch the DVD, but it's a $100 to buy, and Blockbuster doesn't have it to rent. What to do?

Wonderfalls. Fast approaching 20,000 signatures.

Kwame Jackson and Mark Cuban. Could Kwame go work for Mark? An interesting prospect especially with MC doing the Benefactor, KJ being 2nd on The Apprentice, and Mark's recent entry in his blog. I actually want Kwame to accept the job offer.

Mavericks. I want them to win. That's all. Gosh, I've watched the last two playoff games, and it's been heart-breaking each time. I just can't watch the end. You know, you get really nervous for them at the end cuz you want them to win so badly. There's a lot of anxiety at the end, especially when the game was so close. I need to get up and eat something because I've found that eating calms down your nerves. Yup. There's nothing like a packet of Bordeaux to ease the pain.

24. Phew! The first half of the season sucked, frankly. But it's been kick ass so far. I think Michelle is going to die. Her reaction wasn't good. And shouldn't Palmer have brought in his cabinet earlier? And Kim finally has a purpose, but blew it at the end. Way to be Kim. Finally, you're able to contribute something, but got held at gunpoint instead. Anyways, this perfectly sets up a show down between Jack and Sanders. Whew...I cannot wait. I like it when Jack gets all serious. Like he means business. That's one tough dude.

Gilmore Girls. Ohh...Jesse & Rory; Luke & Lorelai. Nice. Fun, fun, fun. Wow, who knew Richard could be so ruthless. I'm starting to see some cliffhangers developing here. Again, with Rory and Dean; Lorelai and Luke; and Emily and Richard. BTW, I'm still expecting my season 1 DVD.

The Restaurant. That intern guy is annoying. What an ass. He's an intern, but acts like the know-it-all. What an ass. What an ass. I'm glad to see several waiters or staff back that I recognized. Carrie and Uzay, I think. I miss Topher, though. Let's see...what else do I have to complain about. Oh, yeah, the wife person. A little condescending if you ask me. My husband this, my husband that. Still, the intern guy annoys me. Oh, I'm not going to get along with Rocco, I just know it. Cuz I like to solve problems on the spot. That's what I'm good at...I can just see that Rocco wouldn't like me cuz I'm gonna turn into one nasty little prick...

The O.C. Um, Seth and Summer? Why go through all that trouble with Anna and end up breaking up? I don't get it. I'm biased. I feel for Seth. Ryan, Teresa, and Marissa--eh, I wish Ryan would boot M and keep T. One of The OC's greatest strength is continuity. I love seeing Seth hold on to Captain Oaks. Anna would be quite proud.

Angel. How many episodes are there left? 4? I wonder if Conner knew what really happened. I bet he did. I think the writers left it open. The look that Conner gave and his last words indicate to me that he knew.

I realized that the title says, "What's on Tonight" might be implying about the TV schedule tonight, but it's really just a recap of different TV shows I've watched earlier. The title comes from my ceased-to-exist-any-longer TV blog that I titled, "What's on Tonight."

Also, you know how people ask you, "hey, what's on tonight?" That's where that comes from also. It's not original by any means, but it works for me. Confusing? Yeah, the same thing happened to me too. I'm hopping to publish it Mondays and Thursdays. I think that's a good spilt.

So to summarize, this is my TV column where I discuss TV related material, and generally, it's a recap of shows I watched earlier in the week or earlier in the day, depending on when I last published. So this blog would mostly contain material that's surfaced since I last published. Just my thoughts and reactions on what happened in TV world. Got it? Right. Cuz now I'm no longer confused by my own posts. Moving along then...

EDIT: I've replaced the "What's on Tonight" banner with plain old "TV." -- 9/28/04
