Autumn in my Heart

I've just finished watching Autumn in my Heart, a Korean drama series. I took a chance and started watching this without knowing anything about the plot before hand, and was pleasantly surprise to find out that Song Hye Kyo was starring in it. This is also where I start crushing on Won Bin. He is fast replacing Rain as my favorite Korean star.

It starts out in the childhood of the two main leads, one of which is Song Hye Kyo. Anyhoo, there is a lot of crying and sadness involved to tug at our heartstrings.

I loved when Eun-seo (Song Hye Kyo) is working as an operator where she meets the rich, spoiled Tae-seok (Won Bin--who I have a deep and irrational crush on). But this didn't last long as Eun-seo is destined to meet her true love, Jun-seo, who just happens to be Tae-seok's best friend and Eun-seo's long lost "brother."

It was slow during the last third of the series because I wished that Eun-seo and Tae-seok would get together instead of Eun-seo and Jun-seo. But of course, nothing can stop true, undying love, which in turn made the story dragged on and on, and made me stopped rooting for them.

I started to lose interest when Eun-seo got a nosebleed, which in TV and movies is the tell tale sign of cancer. And I was right!!! Now this cancer part took up way too much time. There were several instances where I thought Eun-seo was going to die, but NO! not in make believe world of TV romances. She’s going to live just a little longer to squeeze every last bit of sorrow and empathy out of us. This is the weakest part of the entire story.
