a leave of absence from blogs

I've seen a lot of blogs posting farewells--some for good, some promise to return in the future. I count at least 5, and I suspect more.

All bloggers have differing reasons on leaving their blogs: some are burned out with effort need to maintain regular blog, especially with a large audience; some run out of creativity; sometimes time isn't on their side; there’s limitations on space and money for hosting for their blog. Stress and work deadlines on modern bloggers can halt their blogs as well. Some just need a vacation, but some vacations last two weeks, and some last indefinitely.

Blogging is a great medium, but also a weird one. Sometimes you give so much of yourself online to people far and wide, but leave little to people in your daily life. That toll is punishing.

Creatively, to come up with fresh thoughts for each blog can drain your brain. Some require research, opinions, thoughtful discourse, and these 3 things need time and brain power.

And time can be everyone’s demise.
