I'm so impressed with the Wonderfalls petition. When the news first broke of the cancellation, I went to the petition and saw that it had only about 2000-2500 signatures. Now, about five days after Tim Minear announced it on his website, the signatures have grown to over 8000, and I'm sure it will continue to grow. Additionally, different forms of campaigns are being organized, as I'm typing, by many devoted fans that are P.O. that Fox killed off an inventive and smart show.
I think it's a testament to the resourcefulness of Wonderfalls' fans and the power of the Internet. I'm amazed and thankful. And hopeful that something can come out of this, whether it is another season on another network or a DVD release of all 13 episodes.
I can't say I have other TV news to talk about. A lot of reruns still. Gilmore Girls was a repeat. I watched NCIS instead. And 24 kicked ass. But Wonderfalls definitely was my priority. Oh, and I've decided to have WoT as regulars on Mondays and Thursdays. I think that's a good balance otherwise it clutters up my blog. For those who care, of course, which, incidentally, is one person: me.
Also, as you can see, I've made some banners for this "column" as well as a little sign off graphic. I like the change so far, but I bet it'll be hell for those on dial-up. But I'm having fun experimenting with the blog. It's supposed to be couch potatoes signing off if you didn't have a clue about my drawing. I mentioned CouchPotatoes in #1.1. It'll signal the end of the column, so I wouldn't have to say, "see ya later" or "goodbye fellow couch potatoes" because they are waving good bye for me. That's the best I could come up with, so it'll have to do for now.
EDIT: I've replaced the banner for just "TV." I've also cut out the "couch potato" pic because I got lazy having to include it everytime. -- 9/28/04
