TV: I liked 10.5, ok. Plus, the O.C. & Friends say goodbye

I liked 10.5. I don't know what all the fuss is about. Just back off, all right! Why don't people spend more time nick picking The Swan? Why not. I've seen more hatred for 10.5 than for The Swan. Pick your priorities, people.

It was a self-indulgent disaster movie. I'm not pretending it was anything else.

2004 Network Season Finales. Bye bye Angel. Bye bye Friends. A list of upcoming seasonal/series finales.

24. Wow. Talk about suspense. I can't believe that Sanders would be the only one to have technology that tells him other people are monitoring his communication. Why doesn't CTU know about that. Won't CTU go to great lengths not to be detected? Can't they do something to hide their surveillance?

I bet Sherry's doing the reverse psychology type of thing. I bet, in the end, her telling the other guy is somehow going to benefit Palmer. I'm betting that's the case. I love her. She's so much more evil than Omarosa. Sherry or Omarosa? Sherry wins by a landslide.

(Tue 4) Conan & Rachel Blison: Blah. But Conan and John Stevens...their side by side montage...'nuff said.

Thur 6--Conan stripping. Brad Pitt driving away in Conan's Taurus. Hott.

Angel. Humor mixed with mythology. It's why I love Angel and Buffy so much. Finding humor in daily life. Fawning over Buffy was cute, but the realization that neither one of them will be with her is disappointing for me. I guess it's the only way to go, and it makes sense. She can't decide between the two, and she just wants to move on.

The Vespa scene...hahah...it just shows how good Spike and Angel are together. Those two are complimentary foils for each other.

The O.C. Wow. My love for this show is complete. Everything did indeed come full circle. Nice touch. But come on, making us wait months to find out what happens? What about poor Seth sailing all alone? Ryan can't stay in Chino forever! Marissa, drinking again...well, here, I'm not surprised, nor will I feel any pity for her. Kirsten breaking down...awww.

Friends. Yes, I too watched it. There were several moments there that I thought I would well up. I'm seriously considering the DVD, but it'll depend on the price. Finally, Gunther gets to declare his unyielding love for Rachel. The hour long look back at scenes/moments of each characters was great. I loved seeing the Thanksgiving football game again. The finale: Predictable, but satisfying.

My head hurts. I love the mixed reactions that Friends have garnered. I liked Friends for what it was, "Friends." I don't know about anyone else, but I watch TV for escapism. I mean, nothing on TV is really "real." Even reality TV is and can be more surreal than real TV.

I don't claim Friends to be the best thing ever. It was what it was. Overhyped? Yeah. But for me, it was a great little show to tune in on Thursday. Yeah. I've said it before, I don't analyze shows like crazy. I see the inconsistencies and the discrepancies, but I tend to look at the whole picture. If I wasn't bored watching it, then it succeeded as a show. Maybe I have really low standards, and I probably do, but it works for me.

I thought about overanalyzing shows when I read an article in GQ about The O.C. To summarize, I just didn't get it. Maybe it was too hard for me to understand. With all the big words and complicated syntax. I don't know if the author liked it or not. I guess he liked it, but it was like a "shallow guilty pleasure" or something. I guess I don't understand why people have to try to find cultural significance in all things. Shows have to speak to us somehow. And I agree with that. But why try to make it what it's not. Now, I don't fault the article at all. I have to go back and reread it. Why can't some things just exist for pure entertainment. Even people who know this still make a big deal out of it.

I think everyone is overanalyzing, over intellectualizing everything. It's all about having meaning, and trying to find some meaning. I don't know. Sometimes, I'm extremely bored by it. It also doesn't always make you look smart. I realize my contradictions. I'm trying to analyze and intellectualize people who over analyze and intellectualize ideas and events. Boo.

I'm done.

Clouseau, who? Aww...I love the Pink Panther, both the movie and the cartoons. I saw the cartoons way before the movie, but I loved the movie just as much. The remake with Roberto B..something was awful, I thought. I hope Steve Martin does a better job. See: Steve Martin to be new Clouseau. And they have the best theme song ever.
